I had the chance to assist to this year’s RivieraDev 2 day Conference.
It is their 10th anniversary !
I mostly assisted to english speakers talks. Although the conference isn’t recorded most of the slides are publicly available.
The two morning keynotes where both refreshing and mind blowing. The first morning was all about making us “Better Allies” in the industry toward minorities and under represented groups. The second one was about natural catastophy hacker.
Of the many talks I went to these three were my highlight :
- Java to native executable: how GraalVM and Quarkus change the game : The flow of the first speaker was impressive and all while coding a live Demo on the TODO web app. This made the Quarkus a must follow topic !
- Architecture hexagonale : This was the first time I heard about this architecture pattern. I will need to look at Alistair Cockburn’s original article…
- Architecture Decision Records : enfin une documentation qui vous ressemble ! : This was also the first time I heard about ADRs. Will definetly need to promote this in my team and above ^^.
